Ram netters shutout Mustangs
Improving to 6-1, Roy-Hart blanked previously unbeaten Medina (4-1) 5 1/2-0 this afternoon in a key Niagara-Orleans League tennis match at Gasport.
Patrick Sheelar, Madigan Lang and Evan Birkemeier all scored singles wins for Roy-Hart.
The Rams completed the shutout by sweeping the doubles matches on victories by the teams of Cameron VanBuren-Noah Kindron, Mason Collins-Caleb Reith and Kayla Hagen-Kody Hayes.
Akron 4 1/2, Albion 1
Akron stayed perfect at 7-0 by downing host Albion (4-3) 4 1/2-1.
Wins by Nate Chubb at first singles and Will Chubb at third singles led the way for Akron.
The Tigers also swept the three doubles matches with wins by the duos of Morgan Wdowka-Skyler Earle, Maggie Leeds-Harry Fitzgerald and Erika Papke-Sarah Hoefler.
Victor Benjovsky won at second singles for Albion.
