Ram booters rally to tie Mustangs

GASPORT – Roy-Hart rallied from a two goal deficit in the second half to earn a 3-3 double overtime tie with Medina/Lyndonville this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game.

Trailing 3-1 at the half, Roy-Hart rallied into a tie as Lyle Wagner scored eight minutes into the second half and then Cody Breedlove netted the equalizer with six minutes to go in regulation off a corner by Jesus Campos.

Roy-Hart goalie Maine Walker then made three big saves in the first 10 minute overtime period and three more in the second to preserve the tie for the Rams.

Medina/Lyndonville had built up the 3-1 lead in the first half as James Ianni scored twice, off assists from Brennen O’Connor and Steven Anderson, and then Anderson tallied on a header from Anthony Pane.

Campos scored Roy-Hart’s lone first half goal, off an assist from Breedlove, which did give the Rams a brief lead in the first three minutes.

Medina/Lyndonville is now 4-2-1 and Roy-Hart 3-2-1 in N-O action.

Akron 2, Albion 1
ALBION – Akron rallied with first half goals by Nick Doria and Chris Mayrose to edge past upset mined Albion 2-1.

The host Purple Eagles had grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in the first five minutes on a goal by Moses Garza.

Akron is now 6-0 and Albion 0-5.

Newfane 2, Wilson 1
NEWFANE – Goals by Patrick Eadie and Skyler Murer, both off assists from Trevor Moreland, earned Newfane (5-1) a narrow 2-1 win over rival Wilson (0-6).
