A heavy late afternoon rain came at just the wrong time causing the suspension of the Roy-Hart at Albion Niagara-Orleans League baseball game and the Kendall at Lyndonville Genesee Region League contest.

Kendall’s Brian Shaw bangs out a first inning single.

Roy-Hart had grabbed a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a home run by Charlie Bruning but play was halted in the bottom of the frame due to the rain and field conditions.

The contest is scheduled to be resumed at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Medina’s Vets Park.

Lyndonville held a 5-2 lead over Kendall when play was suspended in the bottom of the second inning.

Kendall had grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a two-run single by Hunter Menze but Lyndonville answered back with five runs on two-run singles by Rolland Balcerzak and Casey Winiecki and a bases loaded walk.

The Kendall at Lyndonville softball, which was scheduled for a pair of five inning games, was also suspended early in the first contest.

Lyndonville’s Noah Heinsler tags out Kendall’s Mickey Gardner at third base.

Roy-Hart’s Charlie Brigham dives back into first base as Albion’s Isaiah Callicutt awaits the throw.
