Lakemen top Panthers to lock up N-O title outright

Trailing 25-21 at the half, Barker used a big 23-7 third quarter scoring surge to key a 59-48 victory over visiting Roy-Hart this evening to close out the Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball lseason.

Nate Luckman and Josh Mead both scored 7 points and Michael Snell and Thomas Callaghan both chipped in with threes to spark that third period uprising which vaulted Barker out to 44-32 lead.

Luckman finished with 17, Christopher Sweeney 15, Callaghan 13 and Mead 9.

Chris Anderson scored 16 and Andy Xapsos 15 to lead Roy-Hart as Nelson Andrade added 7.

Barker finishes the N-O campaign at 2-12 and Roy-Hart 3-11.

Wilson 52, Newfane 33
Wilson locked up outright possession of the N-O championship with a 52-33 victory over rival Newfane.

Leading by a narrow 18-16 lead at the half, Wilson used a big 19-7 third period scoring burst to break the contest open. Adam Murray scored 8 points and Evan Shank 5 to lead that uprising which vaulted the Lakemen out to a 37-23 advantage at the three-quarter mark.

Kyle Bradley finished with 16, Shank 14 and Murray 9 for Wilson which winds up the N-O title season at 13-1.

Sam Watkins scored 13 for Newfane which finishes at 4-10.

Akron 52, Albion 43
Justin Schmid poured in 21 points and Gates Abrams 12 to spark the attack for Akron in the 52-43 win over visiting Albion.

Akron led 27-21 at the half and 36-28 after three quaters.

Austin Loyd netted 13, Manny THompson 10, Tommy Mattison 9, Des Blackmon 6, Alex Bison 3 and Clayton Stanton 2 for Albion.

Akron and Albion both finish the N-O season at 8-6.

Wilson 13-1, Medina 10-4, Akron 8-6, Albion 8-6, CSAT 8-6, Newfane 4-10, Roy-Hart 3-11, Barker 2-12.
