Raiders sting Bees in tuneup test

Barker tuned up for Monday’s Niagara-Orleans opener by defeating visiting Byron-Bergen 16-6 Saturday in a non league baseball game.

Nick Brandt picked up the win on the mound for the Raiders allowing three hits and striking out 6 in five innings of work on the mound.

At the plate, Nate Heidemann had 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, and Preston Harris 2, including a triple.

Barker built up a 10-1 lead by scoring five runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth.  Heideman had a double and Jaret Black and Zack Richbart singles in the key fourth inning uprising.

Barker next hosts Albion in the N-O opener at 4:45 p.m. Monday.
