Raider netters edge Purple Eagles

A sweep of the three singles matches earned Barker a narrow 3-2.5 victory over host Albion this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League tennis match.

Sean Benoit defeated Andrew Burroughs 6-4, 6-3 at first singles, Tristan Payne outlasted Dyer Benjovsky 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 at second singles and Brian Hefferon downed Josh Metzler 6-2, 6-2 at third singles as the Raiders improve to 3-0 in N-O action.

Albion, which slips to 1-1, took the three doubles matches. In those contests Ben Kirby and Kyler McQuillan defeated Erik Herian and Zach Pisarski 6-4 6-3 at first doubles, Monica Benjovsky and Chris Tabor downed Kyle Herian and Emma Duffy 6-4, 6-1 at second doubles and Madyson Coville and Michale Stilwell bested Paige Fudella and Ian Goodlander 6-1, 6-2 at third doubles.
