R-H Yanks tip MTA Yanks for playoff title

It was a game the Yankees could not lose.

The Roy-Hart Yankees edged out the MTA Yankees 3-2 in the Roy-Hart Youth / Medina LOYAL Major Division baseball playoff championship game Thursday evening at Somerset.

Strong pitching from both teams was the story of the game.

For the R-H Yankees, Zach Walker had 6 strikeouts over 3 innings and Nate Beyers had 6 strikeouts over 3 innings as they combined to allow only 3 hits.

For MTA Yankees, Brody Fry had 5 strike outs over 3 innings and Tyler Kroening had 3 strikeouts over 2 innings, in which he had to pitch his way out of a 5th inning jam with 2 men on, and no outs.

Scoring for the R-H Yankees were Zack Walker, Nate Beyer, and Caleb Beyer.

Scoring for the MTA Yankees were Jimmy Dieter and Colton Smith.

In the semifinals, the R-H Yankees defeated the Medina Mets and the MTA Yankees edged the Medina Blue Jays.
