Roy-Hart graduate Kara Choate recently helped the Roberts Weslyan University women’s soccer tournament reach the semifinals of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) national championship tournament.

Choate, who is a freshman at Roberts, had a goal and an assist in Roberts Midwest Regional title clinching 6-1 win over Redeemer University to earn a trip to the nationals.

Choate then had a goal in both of Roberts pool play victories at the national tournament, 4-0 over Columbia University and 3-0 over Carolina University. She had a total of 5 goals and 5 assists on the season.

Roberts, which was seeded No. 2 going into the nationals, then lost in the semifinals to Oakland City University on penalty kicks 4-3. Neither team could score during the 90 minutes of regulation play or in two 10 minute overtime periods.

During her scholastic days at Roy-Hart, Choate was a three time first team Niagara-Orleans All-League selection and was named N-O Player of the Year her senior year.
