R-H girls top Akron to share N-O swim lead

Avenging an early season two point (86-84) loss, Roy-Hart knocked visiting Akron from the ranks of the unbeaten by an 89-81 score this afternoon to move into a share of the Niagara-Orleans League girls swim lead.

Roy-Hart and Akron are now both 7-1 with two meets remaining.

“It was a huge win for us,” said Roy-Hart Coach Dottie Barr. “Every race was close. It was a great meet.

Kayla Hagen was a double winner in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Roy-Hart as Madison Ohol took the 500 Free, Amanda Hill the 200 Individual Medley and Holly DiMayo the 100 Breaststroke.

Hagen and DiMayo also teamed up with Hill and Jenna Heiser to win the 200 Medley Relay and with Ohol and Heiser to take the 400 Free Relay.

Completing the sweep, the Roy-Hart boys squad likewise avenged a narrow early season loss (87-83) by defeating Akron 91-77.

Will Rickard won the 50 Free and Madigan Lang the 200 Free for Roy-Hart which also captured all three relays.

The Channel Cats winning relay quartets included Lang, Rickard, Patrick Sheelar and Michael Miller in the 200 Medley; Cameron VanBuren, Aaron Bacon, Carter Green and Ozzy Moore in the 200 Free and Rickard, Miller, Sheelar and Lang in the 400 Free.
