Purple Eagles top Raiders to halt skid

Snapping a four game losing streak, Albion defeated host Barker 65-48 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League contest.

Kory Reynolds scored 17, Brady Meakin 15, Tommy Mattison 10 and Evan Pappalardo 8 to lead the attack for Albion which improves to 5-6 in N-O action.

Eddie Wasnock scored 12, Mike Snell 11 and Nathan Luckman 8 for Barker which slips to 4-7.

Barker jumped out to a 13-9 first period lead a Luckman had a three and a two and Wasnock a pair of baskets.

However, Albion answered back with a 20-11 second period scoring surge to rally into a 29-24 lead at the half.

A jumper by Luckman kept Barker up 17-14 early in the second period but Albion put together an 11-0 run to take the lead for good.

Mattison had two layups during that stretch as Lamar Chambers and Reynolds both added one and Pappalardo a rebound bucket as the Purple Eagles took a 25-17 lead.

Albion maintained a 48-34 advantage at the three-quarter mark.

Albion next visits Medina and Barker hosts Wilson on Thursday.
