Purple Eagles shutout Bulldogs

Scoring in four of the five innings, Albion shutout visiting Barker 10-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League baseball game this afternoon.
Albion grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Elliott Trapiss.
The Purple Eagles upped the lead to 3-0 in the second on an error and a fielders choice play off the bat of Trapiss and to 4-0 in the fourth on an RBI single by Kaiden Froman. Hits by Drew Pritchard and Andrew Boyce and an error loaded the bases to set up the threat.
Albion put a lock on the win by erupting for six runs in the fifth frame on RBI singles by Froman, Nate Gibson and Mason Snook, a two run error and a sacrifice fly by Trapiss.
Gibson and Froman both finished with 3 hits.
Seth Krenning picked up the win on the mound allowing only 2 hits and striking out 6 over the five innings.
Albion is now 2-0 and Barker 2-3 in N-O action.
Newfane 9, Wilson 6
Newfane (1-3) bested rival Wilson (1-4) 9-6 in the other N-O contest as Aiden Perry, Tristan Smith and Noah Okens each had 2 his and Matt Kline drove in 3 runs. Smith’s hits included a two-run homer.
Barker first baseman Logan Flint stretches to take the throw as Albion’s Andrew Boyce reaches the bag safely.
