Purple Eagles set to debut on new turf field
It will be a special weekend for the Albion High varsity football team as the Purple Eagles will debut on their new artificial turf field at 7 p.m. Friday against Roy-Hart/Barker. Pre game ceremonies are scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
The Purple Eagles are looking to snap a season opening two game losing streak while the Bulls bring a 1-1 record into the contest.
Medina will take to the field for the first time in two weeks as the Mustangs open defense of their C North Division title in earnest by visiting Cleveland Hill at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Medina, which is 2-0 overall, picked up a 2-0 forfeit win over Eden last weekend in the Mustangs first scheduled C North game of the season.
Cleve Hill is 1-1 having split a pair of interdivisional contests losing 44-20 to Maryvale and defeating Lew-Port 18-14.
The weekend’s other C North games have Newfane vs. Akron on Friday and Eden vs. JFK on Saturday.
The high school football weekend gets underway on Thursday evening as Holley visits Caledonia-Mumford at 7 p.m. in an 8 man contest.
Holley is 1-1 and Cal-Mum 0-1.
