Purple Eagles romp to win over Lancers

Avenging a one point (26-25) season opening loss, Albion romped to a rain soaked 40-0 victory over visiting Lew-Port this evening in a non league football game.
The Purple Eagles built up s 20-0 half-time advantage on touchdown runs by Ugene Harrison of 30 and 40 yards and a 65 yard pass interception return for a TD by Meach Gardner.
The Albion defense came up big in the third quarter stopping all three Lew-Port drives on turnovers including an interception by Ugene Harrison, a fumble recovery by Kory Reynolds and an interception by Jaquess Harrison which he returned to the Lancers 5 yard line setting up a 4 yard touchdown run by Ugene Harrison.
The Purple Eagles special teams also chipped in with a touchdown on a 62 yard punt return by Jaquess Harrison in the fourth quarter.
Reynolds, who also had two sacks on defense, rounded out the Albion scoring parade with a 58 yard touchdown run on an end around.
Albion is now 3-5 on the season and Lew-Port 2-6.
Pioneer 33, Roy-Hart 6
Scoring at least once in each quarter, Pioneer posted a 33-6 victory over Barker/Roy-Hart in a non league game at Middleport.
Malik Smith scored on a 25 yard run in the first quarter for Barker/Roy-Hart’s only touchdown.
Eric Fitch rushed for 101 yards for Barker/Roy-Hart and also had 9 tackles on defense. Matt Laverty also had 9 tackles, Aaron Curry and Colton Bohall 6 and Jacob Bruning and Sal Gioeli 5 each.
Barker/Roy-Hart finishes the season at 2-6 and Pioneer goes to 4-4.
