Purple Eagles romp to Homecoming win

A lightning quick touchdown in the opening minute ignited Albion to a 58-6 Homecoming victory over visiting Roy-Hart/Barker this evening.

Ugene Harrison scored on a 49 yard touchdown run just 47 seconds into the game and Albion was off and rolling as Justin Robinson added the first of his five extra point kicks.

Demetrius Gardner picked up yardage for the Purple Eagles.

The Purple Eagles upped the lead to 13-0 on 14 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Bryce Pritchard to JaQuess Harrison with 5:38 remaining in the opening quarter.

Roy-Hart/Barker did cut the deficit to 13-6 on a 24 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Charlie Bruning to Aaron Curry in the opening minute of the second quarter but could not find the end zone again.

Albion broke the game wide open in the second quarter with three long touchdown plays including scoring runs of 58 yards by Brilliance Johnson and 53 yards by Pritchard along with a 54 yard punt return by JaQuess Harrison.

Robinson tacked on a 27 yard field goal as the Purple Eagles enjoyed a commanding 37-6 lead at the half.

In the second half Albion got touchdown runs on 2 yards by Demetrius Gardner and of 5 and 46 yards by Antonio Vallejo-Miller.

Vallejo-Miller finished with 93 yards rushing, Pritchard 91 and Johnson 80.

On defense, Ugene Harrison led the Purple Eagles with 11 while Gardner and Jessy Cruz both had 8.

Albion stays unbeaten at 4-0 while Roy-Hart/Barker slips to 1-3.
