Purple Eagles race past Raiders

Fast breaking at every opportunity, Albion rolled to a 78-45 victory over visiting Barker this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League game.

Deyonci Farley poured in a game high 27 points to spearhead the Albion attack.

Liam Ward added 13, Bryce Pritchard and Dylan Fox 10, Michael DiCureia 8, Kevin Hillman 5, Xavier Cornick and Brilliance Johnson 2 and Vincent Zona 1 for the Purple Eagles.

Nick Brandt and Shane Gerhardt each scored 8 for Barker as Preston Harris and Dan Ober had 6, Hunter Callen 5, Cameron Babcock and Joseph Brandt 4 and Nicholas Guevara and Cole Hanssen 2.

Farley erupted for 10 quick points in the opening period on three layups, one on a fast break and another off a turnover, and two jumpers to key Albion out to a 17-9 lead.

Back-to-back fast break layups by Ward followed by one by Farley then highlighted an 11-2 run to open the second period upping the Purple Eagles lead to 17 at 28-11.

Late threes by Ward and Pritchard helped boost the Albion advantage to 23, 42-19, at the half. Ward had a total of 9 in the period as Pritchard and Farley each tallied 5.

The Purple Eagles advantage soared to 30, 60-30, at the three-quarter mark as Farley tallied 9 in the third period including a three.

Albion is now 3-2 in the league and Barker 0-4.

Wilson 69, Newfane 59

Wilson moved into a tie for first place with idle Medina at 4-0 by downing rival Newfane 69-59 as Jake Miller scored 22, Luke Bradley 18 and Steve Frerichs 13. Frerichs scored 7 in the second period as the Lakemen outpointed the Panthers 20-9 to open up a 40-27 lead at the half.

Sam Capen scored 16 and Deuce Capen 11 for Newfane which slips to 2-2.

Akron 46, Roy-Hart 38

Adam Mietz scored 20, including five threes, to lead Akron (2-3) to a 46-38 win over Roy-hart 0-4.

Charlie Bruning scored 10, Mark Sanders 9 and Charlie Brigham 7 for Roy-Hart.
