Avenging an earlier season one point road loss, Albion downed visiting Wilson 66-53 this evening in a key Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball game.

The victory not only pulls Albion into a tie for second place with Wilson at 6-3 but also clinches at least a tie for the N-O title for front-running Akron which defeated visiting Roy-Hart 51-39. Akron is now 9-1 in N-O action and two games ahead of both Albion and Wilson with just two games remaining.

Tyler Cody scored 20, Kyle Radder 12 and Isaiah Riley 11 to lead the way for Albion as Wesley Olles added 8, Luke Bell 6, Seth Krenning 5 and Kwame Riley 4.

Up by a narrow 31-29 margin at the half, the Purple Eagles extended their advantage to 13, 46-33, by opening the third period with a key 15-4 run. Radder and Isaiah Riley both scored 4 as Cody hit a three and Bell and Olles both chipped in with a basket during that uprising.

The Lakemen did answer with an 8-0 run to close the period including two baskets by Neumann and a three by Frerichs to cut the deficit to 5, 46-41, at the three-quarter mark.

However, Albion opened the decisive final period with a 7-2 run including baskets by Tyler, Kwami Riley and Radder to regain a 10 point, 53-43, lead and Wilson could get no closer than seven after that.

Two baskets by Radder and one by Krenning along with seven free throws helped the Purple Eagles lock up the win.
