Looking to rebound from last year’s 2-10 Niagara-Orleans League baseball season, Albion is led by a group of eight returnees.

That veteran group includes seniors Seth Krenning (Pitcher/first Base), Aaron Woodroe (Outfield) and Andrew Boyce (Outfield); juniors Kaiden Froman (Outfield/Pitcher), Nate Gibson (Catcher/Pitcher), Elliot Trapiss (Shortstop/Pitcher) and Josh Schoeberlein (Outfield) and sophomore Gavin Boyce Outfield/Infield/Picher).

Froman and Gibson both earned second team N-O All-League honors.

“Most of the team is back to we’re hoping the experience factor will help us be more competitive,” said Coach Bruce Blanchard. “I think our pitching and our fielding should be better. The key will be how well we hit.”

The Purple Eagles roster also includes juniors Will Plummer (Outfield/Pitcher), Brayden Ryder (Third Base) and Chastin Styer (Outfield); sophomores Drew Pritchard (Infield/Pitcher) and Mason Snook (Third Base/First Base) and freshman Omer Fugate (Pitcher/First Base).

Albion is scheduled to host Pembroke at 4:45 p.m. Friday in the non league season opener before beginning N-O competition at Newfane on April 8.
