Purple Eagles edge Mustangs in N-O opener

A pair of first half goals proved to be just enough as Albion edged Medina 2-1 in the Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer opener at Vets Park this evening.

The Purple Eagles goals were scored by Corleone Plain on a penalty kick, and by Pablo Rosario-Reyes.

Cole Callard scored the Medina goal in the second half.

Roy-Hart 3, Akron 0
All of the scoring came in the second half as defending champion Roy-Hart blanked host Akron 3-0.

Peter Martillotta scored all three goals for the Rams the first coming on a penalty kick and the second off an assist from Rem Albee.

In the other N-O opener Wilson blanked rival Newfane 5-0.
