Purple Eagles earn B-2 football honors

Over a dozen players from Albion’s co-championship team have earned sports on the Class B Division 2 All-Star football squad.

Albion, which shared the B-2 title with Dunkirk at 4-1, is represented on the first team by junior quarterback Bryce Pritchard, junior running back Ugene Harrison, senior fullback Demetrius Gardner, senior defensive back JaQuess Harrison, senior offensive lineman Caleb Pettit and junior defensive lineman Ben Restivo.

Pritchard had 873 all purpose yards and 8 touchdowns, Ugene Harrison 905 yards rushing, 11 touchdowns and 60 tackles, JaQuess Harrison 350 all purpose yards, 5 touchdowns and 41 tackles; Gardner 411 all purpose yards, 3 touchdowns and 64 tackles and Restivo 75 tackles, including 55 solo, and 3 sacks.

Albion is represented on the second team by sophomore running back Brilliance Johnson, junior defensive backs Nate Moore and Matt Kovaleski, senior kicker Justin Robinson and senior offensive lineman Tyler Kast.

Johnson had 355 yards rushing, 3 touchdowns and 23 tackles, Moore 144 all purpose yards, 4 touchdowns and 38 tackles, Kovaleski 33 tackles and Robinson 11 extra point kicks.

The Purple Eagles also had juniors Kirk Ellison, Jessy Cruz and Jonathan DePuy earn Honorable Mention.
