Purple Eagles down Lady Raiders in soccer

A three goal scoring burst over the last 12 minutes of the first half sparked Albion to an 8-0 win over visiting Barker this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game.

Nikki Eldred ignited that key spurt with a goal off an assist from Catherine Thom.

Emily Blanchard followed up with two quick goals, the first off an assist from Mariah Plain to make it 3-0.

The Purple Eagles kept rolling in the second half on goals by Eldred, Blanchard, Thom, Brylie Hapeman and Plain. Thom, Eldred and Blanchard all chipped in with assists during that stretch.

Albion is now 4-3-1 and Barker 0-8 in N-O action.

Akron 4, Medina 1

Julia Wartinger scored 2 goals and Jenna Robnett and Kara Sequin each added 1 to lead Akron (6-2) to a 4-1 victory over visiting Medina (2-4-1).

Destiny Satkowski scored the lone goal for Medina.

Newfane 5, Roy-Hart 1
Front-running Newfane got goals from five different players to down Roy-Hart (2-6) 5-1 and stay unbeaten at 8-0.

Erica Flagler, Kayleigh Daniels, Emily Foltz, Ady Burns and Megan Knoll each scored a goal for the Lady Panthers.
