Purple Eagles celebrate N-O track title season
Photo by Tom Rivers – Members of the Albion boys track team celebrate Wednesday evening after completing an outstanding Niagara-Orleans League season. The Purple Eagles captured a second straight N-O team title by posting a perfect 6-0 record during the dual meet portion of the season. Then Wednesday Albion took first place honors in 10 events at the annual N-O All-League meet held at Wilson. The Purple Eagles got individual event wins from Chris Shabazz (Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump), Dominic DiGiulio (Shotput, Discus), Tony Freeman (400 Hurdles), Reuben Rivers (3200) and Alex Zaczek (Pole Vault). In addition, Albion won the 400 Relay with Shabazz, Freeman, Ozzie Matos and Auston Johnson and the 1600 Relay with Matos, Freeman, Junior Morales and Shkwe Riley.
