Purple Eagles cap 13-1 N-O title campaign with victory over CSAT

Completing a near perfect 13-1 Niagara-Orleans League championship season, Albion posted an 8-1 victory over CSAT this afternoon at Vets Park.

Jason Downs pitched the first four innings for Albion allowing just one hit and striking out eight. John Krieger came on to hurl the final three frames likewise allowing just one hit and striking out three.

Downs also had two hits including a two-run single which highlight a three run third inning.

The Purple Eagles also scored twice in the first inning, ignited by a single by Dominic DiCureia, and twice in the fifth as Downs had another hit.

The loss finishes CSAT’s N-O season at 4-10.

Roy-Hart 6, Barker 2

Josh Baptiste and Andy Xapsos both had two hits, including a double, to lead Roy-Hart past Barker 6-2.

Andy Jacob went the distance on the mound scattering three hits and striking out 10 as Roy-Hart improves to 9-4.

Colin Webb had a two run single for Barker.
