Purple Eagles blank Rams; Hawks win

A pair of late second half goals earned Albion a 2-0 victory over visiting Roy-Hart this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game.

Hayden Pecoraro scored both goals, with 22 and 17 minutes remaining, as Owen Foos earned the assist on the second tally.

Devin Gaylord earned the shutout in goal for the Purple Eagles whose defense was also anchored by the quartet of Donato Rosaio, Nick Reed, Joe Madjeski and Nate Smith.

Albion is now 2-0 and Roy-Hart 0-2 in N-O competition.

The Purple Eagles next face Wheatland-Chili at 5 p.m. Friday in the opening round of the Byron-Bergen Tournament.

Holley opened Genesee Region League competition with a 2-0 victory at Wheatland-Chili.

Andrew Cary scored both goals for the Hawks, both off assists from Derek McArthur.

Patrick Bower made 8 saves to earn the shutout in goal.
