Purple Eagles best Panthers in N-O opener

Albion downed visiting Newfane 4-1 in the Niagara-Orleans League tennis opener this afternoon.
The Purple Eagles swept the three doubles matches with victories by the duos of Jordan Marshall – Landon Graybill, Jason Anstey – Oliver Beach and Joel Slack – Jackie Santiago-Garcia.
Albion also got a win at second singles by Mark Ames.
Newfane’s Luke Gunby took the first singles match.
In the other N-O openers, Wilson downed Roy-Hart 4-1 and defending champion Akron swept the three doubles matches to edge Barker 3-2. Akron also downed Wilson 3-2 on Tuesday.
