Purple Eagles and Raiders score victories

Albion downed visiting Wilson 46-35 and Barker bested host Akron 64-55 in overtime in Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball action this evening.

Jahmeek Riley scored 12, Tyler Gibson 10 and Javon Jones 8 to lead Albion while Jake Austin paced Wilson with 11.

The Purple Eagles held leads of 21-15 at the half and 33-27 at the three-quarter mark.

Riley and Ozzie Matos both scored 6 in the third period for Albion and Jones tallied 6 in the final stanza.

Albion is now 2-6 and Wilson 4-6 in N-O action.

The Purple Eagles next host Barker in a make-up game at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Barker 64, Akron 55 OT

Brad Cantrell had a basket and two free throws and Steven Class a bucket to close out the overtime period and lock up the victory for Barker at Akron.

Cantrell finished with a game high 25 as  Nathan Meza Ray added 16 and Aidan Mescall 13.

Andrew Romesser led Akron with 15.

The contest was tied 50-50 at the end of regulation time.

Barker improves to 4-5 and Akron slips to 3-5.
