Annual title success on the field has earned the Medina Mustangs FC a promotion to a higher division in the Buffalo District Soccer League each of the past three years.

Medina’s big run began in 2023 when a victory in the 3rd Division championship game earned the Mustangs a promotion to the 2nd Division for the 2024 season.

Making the most of that promotion, the Mustangs captured the regular season 2nd Division championship with an 8-3 record to earn a promotion to the 1st Division for this season.

Again the Mustangs have made the most of the opportunity capturing the 1st Division regular season title with an 8-0-1 record with one game remaining by downing Ukraine 1-0 last Sunday.

The title has earned the Mustangs a promotion to the Championship Division for next year. The Championship Division is the second highest in the league behind only the Premier Division.

Medina will close out the 1st Division regular season by hosting second place Mandem at 6 p.m. Sunday at Vets Park. Mandem has a 6-0-3 record.

Having also earned the No. 1 seed for the upcoming 1st Division playoffs, Medina will host a semifinal round game on August 3.

In all 11 players have scored goals for Medina so far this season led by Nate Dillenbeck with 10 and Cole Callard and Peter Martillotta both with 5.

The Mustangs assist leaders are Ethan Leonard with 6 and Greg Husung with 4.
