Powell is double winner again for Brockport

Albion High graduate Chanyce Powell has had big double win effort for the SUNY Brockport indoor track team for the second weekend in a row.

Just as she did at the Ithaca Quad Meet last weekend, Powell captured both the long jump and triple jump Saturday at host Brockport’s Golden Eagle Invitational.

Powell, who is a junior at Brockport, won the triple jump with an effort of 11.44 meters which is seventh best on the national qualifying list. She also won the long jump with a leap of 5.48 meters which is 13th on the qualifying list.

Emborsky leads NCCC
Newfane High graduate and Niagara County Community College sophomore Paige Emborsky is leading the Lady Thunderwolves basketball team in scoring with an average of 16.2 points per game.

The Thunderwolves, who are off to a 21-1 start, also have three Albion High graduates on their roster including sophomore Caitlynn Snook and freshmen Sierra Newton and Janae Doty. Snook is averaging 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds.
