Pirates advance in Minor League playoffs
The bats were hot as the Pirates defeated Lyndonville’s Whipple Reality Thursday to open the Minor League playoffs.
Tyler Kroening, Aleks Seefelt, Sawyer Lilleby, Timmy Vazquez and Aaron Woodrow all went 3 for 3 while Lathan Miller added another hit in his three at bats.
Kroening’s home run in the second broke the game open for the Pirates in the second inning.
Woodrow, Lilleby and Vazquez held Whipple Reality to two runs while striking out 10 batters.
