Avenging a home field loss earlier in the week, Perry edged past host Holley 2-1 in overtime this evening in a non league boys soccer game.

Perry, which dropped an equally close 3-2 decision to Holley on Tuesday at Perry, claimed the victory when Carson DeVinney scored on a line shot just 1:33 into the first 10 minute overtime period.

Perry also scored the game’s first goal at the 23 minute mark of the first half.

However, Holley battled back into a tie when Kohl Morgan scored his first goal of the young season off an assist from Jared Strathearn with 8:30 to go in the opening half.

Neither team could find the net again in the second half though Perry just missed in the final minute as a shot rattled off the inside of the post.

Holley goalie Broek Ostrom made two big saves in the second half to keep the Hawks even.

Now at 3-1, Holley next visits Attica in a Genesee Region League game at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
