Perez earns Player of the Week honor

Medina High graduate and Montevallo University, Alabama junior Alba Perez has earned Peach Belt Conference basketball Player of the Week honors.
Perez, who started the past two years at Niagara County Community College receiving All-Conference and All-Region honors, earned the weekly honor for helping to lead the Division II Falcons to a 63-58 win over Auburn-Montgomery with season high totals of 16 points and 17 rebounds.
She has started 5 of the Falcons 6 games to date scoring a total of 48 points (8.0 average) and grabbing off 64 rebounds (10.6 ave.)
Perez, who earned first team Niagara-Orleans All-League honors in both her junior and senior years during her scholastic days at Medina, is majoring in Sociology.
