Perez earns Cougar Classic MVP honor

Medina High graduate and Niagara County Community College sophomore Alba Perez earned Most Valuable Player honors this weekend at Genesee Community College’s Cougar Classic.
Perez scored 19 points and grabbed off 18 rebounds on Saturday as NCCC defeated Coummunity College of Rhode Island 78-70.
Alliyah Gillespie, who was named to the All-Tournament team, added 12 points for the Thunderwolves.
Perez then poured in 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds this afternoon as GCCC defeated Durham, Ontario 80-62 to improve to 15-1 on the season.
Gillespie added 13 points and Starpoint grad Jenna Faulkner 11 for the Thunderwolves.
