Pembroke tops Medina in Unified basketball
Playing without their two starting point guards, Medina’s Unified Basketball team lost 39-30 at Pembroke Tuesday in the regular season finale.
Pembroke outscored Medina in the first quarter 11-8. The eight points were spread among Jackson Tuohey (4), Brennan Hinckley (2) and Matthew Kennedy (2).
The Mustangs hung with the Dragons in the second quarter with both teams scoring four baskets. Thomas Miesch led the way for Medina with six points while Tuohey added the other two. Pembroke led at halftime 19-16.
In the third quarter Pembroke started pulling away. Medina rallied from seven points down at one point to take the lead. However, the Dragons scored consecutive baskets and never trailed again. Pembroke outscored Medina 12-8. Miesch and Tuohey both score four points.
The last quarter saw Pembroke again outscored Medina, 8-6. Tuohey had all six points for the Mustangs.
Tuohey finished with 16 and Miesch 10.
The Mustangs finished the regular season with a 3-2 record. Medina’s next game is a playoff game on Tuesday, May 31st. The location is at one of the Williamsville schools TBD.
