Passenger dies after vehicle hits tree, overturns in Hartland
HARTLAND – The passenger in a vehicle died today after the vehicle struck a tree and overturned several times on Ridge Road in Hartland, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a single motor vehicle accident at 1:22 a.m. Deputies arrived on scene and confirmed a vehicle had left the roadway, struck a tree and then overturned several times, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies observed two occupants in the vehicle and called for EMS to respond. Ultimately, the passenger succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was extricated by EMS and transported to ECMC by Mercy Flight.
The names of the occupants in the motor vehicle accident are being withheld at this time pending notification to family, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigation of the motor vehicle accident is continuing by The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit.
