Panthers sweep Seahorses

The three-time defending champion Newfane girls swim team defeated visiting Medina 106-64 this afternoon to remain unbeaten at 6-0 in Niagara-Orleans League competition.

The Newfane boys squad completed the sweep avenging an earlier season loss by besting Medina 93-75.

Lydia Gaughran doubled in the 100 and 200 free and Allie DeBiase in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke to lead the Newfane girls.

Andrew Hamlink took both the individual medley and breaststroke and Brandon MacFarlane the 50 and 100 freestyle events to spark the Newfane boys.

Chase Pecoraro won the 200 free and 100 backstroke and Austin Heil the 500 free for Medina.

The Newfane boys improve to 4-2 and Medina slips to 2-4.

The seven-time defending N-O champion Roy-Hart boys squad likewise stayed perfect at 6-0 by downing Barker 99-70.

Nick DiNardo won both the 200 and 500 free and Roy Phipps the 50 and 100 free for Roy-Hart.

The Roy-Hart girls completed the sweep by downing Barker 95-74.

Calee Coleman doubled in the 200 free and backstroke and Lindsay Yates in the 50 and 100 free for Roy-Hart.

Brooke Targus won the individual medley and Hayley Richbart the breaststroke for Barker.

Roy-Hart improves to 5-1 and Barker slips to 3-2-1.

The Albion boys edged past host Akron 58-54 to go to 2-4 on the season.

Morgan Seielstad doubled in the 200 and 500 freestyle events and Bailey Maier won the backstroke for Albion.

The Akron girls defeated Albion 118-51.
