Panthers duo earns N-O cross-country honors

Contributed Photos – Two seniors, Kim Goerss and Robert Stevenson, who helped lead Newfane to the Niagara-Orleans League and Section VI Class C championships this past season, have earned the N-O Cross Country Runners of the Year Award.  Goerss has won the N-O All-League meet the last four years in a row and is a six time first team All-League honoree. The Section VI Class C race champion this fall, she is also a six time state meet qualifier finishing as high as fourth. In 2016 she helped lead the Lady Panthers to their first ever state championship. She plans on continuing her education and running career at Edinburgh University. Stevenson, a four year member of the Panthers team, helped lead Newfane to a second straight N-O title and also the Section VI Class C championship this fall. He finished second at the All-League earning first team All-League honors. He plans to continue his education and his running career at SUNY Cortland.
