Completing a home-and-home series sweep, Newfane used a two out late inning scoring burst to down host Albion 9-5 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League baseball game.

Newfane, which scored a 6-5 home field win over Albion on Thursday, rallied from a 5-3 deficit by scoring six runs with two out in the sixth inning to complete the sweep. A bases loaded three-run double by Trevor Heschke highlighted that decisive uprising.

Albion’s Mason Bennett bangs out a hit.

Albion had just rallied into a 5-3 lead by scoring four times in the bottom of the fifth inning highlighted by a two-run double by Javon Jones and an RBI single by Tyler Gibson. Singles by Damion Lattimer and Amari Jones set up the threat.

The Purple Eagles other run came in the second inning on an RBI double by Mason Bennett.

Amari Jones, Lattimer and Javon Jones each finished with two hits.

Earlier, Newfane scored once in the second on an RBI single by Cam Rowles and twice in the third on a triple by Tyler Oudette and a sacrifice fly by Cade Littman. Oudette had two hits on the day.

Newfane is now 3-0 and Albion 0-2.
