Pal-Mac downs Albion in non league opener
Racing out to a commanding 23 point half-time advantage, Palmyra-Macedon went on to defeat host Albion 67-37 this evening in a season opening non league boys basketball game.
Brayden Leo and Carter Young each scored 16 to lead the fast break oriented attack for Pal-Mac which was up 21-10 after the first quarter, 40-17 at the half and 55-30 at the three-quarter mark. Young scored 13 of his points in the first half and Leo tallied all of his in the second half.
Blake Preston shared game high scoring honors with 16 for Albion as Kyle Radder and Xavier Byrd both added 5, Tyler Cody 4, John Eibl 3 and Auston Johnson and Seth Krenning 2 each.
Albion next hosts Midlakes at 7 p.m. Tuesday in another non league contest.
The evening’s other non league contest, Barker at Lyndonville, was postponed.
Girls Basketball
LeRoy 66, Albion 19
LeRoy roared out to a 32-9 half-time lead in route to downing visiting Albion 66-19 in a season opening non league girls contest.
Julia Knight scored 6 and Madison Hughson 4 for Albion. Knight also grabbed off 9 rebounds.
Albion next hosts Pembroke in another non league game at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
