ALBION – The steps leading to the Orleans County Courthouse from Platt Street are covered in heavy snow this morning at about 7:30.

The snow has been coming down hard this morning. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory today until 6 p.m. for Orleans, Niagara, Genesee and northern Erie counties.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo says 1 to 3 inches of snow are expected with winds gusting as high as 35 miles per hour.

“Plan on slippery road conditions,” the Weather Service said. “Areas of blowing snow will reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute.”

South of Genesee and northern Erie counties, there will be more snow, 4 to 8 inches for Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and southern Erie counties.
