Orleans quintet earns All-State baseball honors

Joe DeFelice, a June Holley High graduate, heads a group of five Orleans County players who have earned All-State baseball honors.
DeFelice, a pitcher/shortstop, has earned first team Class C All-State honors. He hit .474 this past season with 9 doubles, 5 triples and 21 RBIs. On the mound, he went 6-0 with a 1.40 earned run average.
His Holley teammate, catcher Josh Porter, who is also a June graduate, has earned 6th team Class C honors. He hit .378 with 5 doubles and 14 RBIs. He also picked up 4 saves on the mound.
DeFelice and Porter, who will be teammates this fall at Genesee Community College, helped Holley capture both Genesee Region League Division I and Section V Class CC titles this spring.

Lyndonville’s Ty Hrovat, left, and Jacob Hoffee
Lyndonville likewise has a pair of All-State honorees in pitcher/shortstop Ty Hrovat, a June graduate, and pitcher/shortstop Jacob Hoffee, who will be a junior this fall.
Hrovat, a repeat honoree, earned second team Class D All-State honors. He hit .479 with 6 doubles, 2 triples and 19 RBIs.. He went 5-2 on the mound with a 1.11 era.
Hoffee, who earned 4th team Class D honors, hit .466 with 5 doubles, 2 triples and 23 RBIs. He went 3-3 on the mound with a 2.45 era.
Medina’ pitcher Jason Hellwig, a June graduate, has earned fifth team Class B All-State honors. An honorable mention All-Western New York selection, he went 8-1 on the mound with a 2.09 earned run average. At the plate he hit .329 with 15 RBIs and 15 stolen bases.
