Orleans Outlaws win 3 tourney championships

It was a big weekend on the diamond for the Orleans Outlaws which had three teams – 8U, 10U and 12U – capture championships at the Falcons for a Cure Tournament in Horseheads.

The 8U team went 4-0 defeating Elmira Elite 10-6 in the championship game sparked by a 5 run fifth inning to erase a 6-5 deficit.

The 8U opened the tourney by downing Elite Baseball 12-7 and Finger Lakes Falcons 14-4 erupting for 5 quick runs in both games. They then bested the Falcons again 15-2 in the semifinals by scoring 5 times in each of the first three innings to gain a spot in the title contest.

The 10U team went 6-0 blanking Smash It Sports 13-0 in the title contest sparked by a big 9 run fourth inning.

In the preliminary rounds, the U10 romped past the Northeast Stingers 21-2 and Spartans Youth Baseball 20-0.

Keeping the momentum on Sunday the U10 team bested the Spartans 15-0, Hornets Gold 11-0 and Finger Lakes Falcons 9-3 to advance to the championship game.

The U12 team went 4-1 downing Corning Elite 6-1 in the championship game scoring in five different innings.

After splitting in their two preliminary round games, the U12 squad defeated Northeast Stinger Sport 13-1 and Penfield 3-1 to earn a spot in the championship game.
