High winds took down a few trees and wires this morning, causing some damage and power outages, but nearly as much as in Genesee County.

At 9 this morning, about 50 National Grid customers in Orleans County were without power. In Batavia, in Genesee County, about 4,000 are without electricity.

The outages in Orleans include 30 in Carlton on East Kent Road, with restoration expected by 4 p.m. There are also 19 National Grid customers without power in Clarendon on Jackson Road, with estimated restoration at 9:30.

A high wind warning remains in effect in Orleans and Western New York until 11 a.m.
