Orleans Hub switches to new platform
Orleans Hub looks a little different as of 10 a.m. today. We switched to the WordPress platform, which is popular for websites that make frequent changes and updates.
We had been using the Contribute web publishing software since we went “live” on April 2, 2013, as well as the months leading up to the original launch when we were building the site.
The change to WordPress will allow us to rotate ads on the right side of the page. The articles should also post faster, and require less WiFi bandwidth. That has been an issue for some Hub writers when we are at a campground, visiting family or in other locations with low WiFi signals or where there are many users.
The Hub still looks much like the Hub, so the change really isn’t anything earth-shattering. (The main column for news is a little wider. That looks like the biggest difference.)
There will no doubt be some glitches that we will work through. Thank you for your understanding.
