Orleans County Clay Crushers claim top honors at state championships

 Contributed Photo – The Orleans County Clay Crushers team had a very successful day of competition at the state skeet and trap championships this past Saturday.

The Orleans County Clay Crushers team competed in the New York State SCTP state shoot this past Saturday. The team, which consisted of 28 shooters aged 12- 18, shooting both trap and skeet, brought home an impressive 18 medals in both team and individual competition.

The Varsity Trap squad placed first, The JV Trap squads took second and third, the Intermediate Advanced Trap squad first, the Intermediate Entry Trap squad first, the Varsity Skeet squads first and third and the Intermediate Advanced Skeet squad first.

In the individual competition, Patrick Brien placed first in both the Varsity Trap and Skeet High Gun Divisions, Jacob Kuhmann third in Varsity Skeet, Shane Hastings second in JV Trap, Caden Uderitz first in Intermediate Advanced Trap and second in Skeet, Sawyer Braley third in Intermediate Advanced Trap, Christian Swierczynski first in Intermediate Advanced Skeet, Bryce Wilson second in Intermediate Entry Trap and Hunter Stevens third in Entry Trap.
