BROCKPORT – Police continue to look for answers for why a Lyndonville woman was killed by a single gunshot wound to the head on Friday.

Megan Dix, 33, was found on Friday at about 8 p.m. in a parking lot on South Avenue, where she liked to take lunch breaks from her job as an assistant manager at the Lowe’s in Brockport. She was discovered in a dark-colored pickup she had driven.

Her family has established a GoFundMe account (click here) to help with funeral costs and to assist her husband Chris and their 8-year-old son, CJ.

“Megan Duncanson Dix was a loving mother and wife,” her sister-in-law Denise Duncanson writes on GoFundMe. “Family always came first. My sister in law was a beautiful woman inside and out, whose life was cut short as she was taken from us on 8/25/17 by an inhumane and senseless act.”

The Brockport Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office are asking the public’s help with the case. Anyone who parked in the lot between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday or saw something questionable in the area is asked to call 911 or the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at (585) 753-4178.
