William L. “Wild Bill” Allen, 81, of West Barre, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on April 16, 2020, following a short illness.

Bill was born Nov. 25, 1938 in Batavia, a son of the late Leon and Grace (Peters) Allen. He graduated from Albion High School, class of 1957. After high school, Bill graduated from Cornell University with a degree in agricultural sciences and went on to work for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets in Rochester. Bill was a member of Brockport Free Methodist Church. He loved gardening, playing the piano, singing, and his cottage at Lighthouse Christian Camp in Barker.

He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Allen, in 2019.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Donna; children, Tammy (Ron Johnson) Allen-Parmelee, Gina (Stosh) Deskins-Garczynski, Elizabeth Allen, and Robin (Rich) Nolan; grandchildren, Grace and Maxwell Parmelee, of whom he was very proud; sisters-in-law, Carol (Frank) Trusler-Piorkowski and Noreen (Joseph) Tascione; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date due to COVID-19.
