William ElsterWilliam G. Elster Jr., 57, of Medina, entered into rest peacefully on Thu., May 14, 2020. Billy was born in Medina, a son of the late William G. and Shirley M. (Bellamy) Elster Sr., on Nov. 30, 1962.

He attended Royalton-Hartland High School. For many years, Billy worked alongside his father at their family business, Elster Motor Sales in Middleport. With the CB handle “Monkey Wrench,” he also helped with towing. Billy moved to Joplin, Mo. and then to Virginia for a short period before returning to Medina. Billy worked as an assistant manager at the Kwik Fill gas station in Medina. He loved country music, gardening, and picnicking at Olcott Beach with his partner, Don.

He was predeceased by his mother, Shirley Elster in 1990; his father, Bill Elster Sr. in 2017; sister, Elaine Medrano in 2019; and four nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and William Shingleton, Amanda Bloom, and Donald Banks Jr.

He is survived by his life partner, Donald G. Much of Medina; sisters, Susan (Tim) Cutshall of Cherokee, Kan., Valerie Elster and Kim (Eric) Brown, both of Medina; a brother in-law, Luciano “Max” Medrano of Medina; nieces and nephews, John (Christine) Shingleton, Thomas (Rhonda) Shingleton, Jennifer (Greg) Shingleton, Dina (Justin) Narburgh, Amanda Semonick and Mark (Brittany) Swank; several grand and great-grandnieces and nephews; godmother, Bonnie Waters; several aunts and uncles; his best friend, Laura Werth; and his fur babies, Sophie and Mack.

Per Bill’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Private graveside committal will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
