William D. Haffly

American flagWilliam D. Haffly, 92, of Holley/Greece died March 1, 2022 in the Edna Tina Wilson Living Center following a long illness.  He was born Oct. 23, 1929 in McClure, Pa. to Albert and Verdie (Weader) Haffly and had lived in Holley since 1949.

Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war.  He was a former employee of Eastman Kodak Company, retiring in 1991. Bill was also a life member of the Fancher, Hulberton, Murray Fire Department.

Mr. Haffly was predeceased by his son, Michael Haffly; siblings: Robert C. Haffly, Marian A. Smith, Ammon R. Haffly, Donald E. Haffly, Marjorie G. Hood, Rev. Albert S. Haffly Jr., Dorothy M. Specht, Shirley A. Simcoz,  and Thomas W. Haffly.

He is survived by his wife Ann; children: David (Carol) Haffly of Holley, Joanne (Phillip) VanOrden of Holley, Stephen (Ruth) Haffly of NC, Patricia (Michael) Patton of Holley; daughter-in-law, Marlene Haffly of NC; sister, Doris Hook of Pa.; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 16650 State Rt. 31, Holley, Tue., April 26, 2022 from 12-2 p.m. where his funeral service will be held beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1120 Goodman St., Rochester, NY 14620; or to any Veteran Service Agency.
