Wayne “Terry” Irwin
LOCKPORT – Wayne “Terry” Irwin passed away from Multiple Myeloma on June 15, 2025, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. He was diagnosed on March 25th with two months to live. From that point on he was under the care of his beloved daughter Brandie Reynolds. He maintained his strength and optimism all through his final months.
Born January 4th, 1954, in Lockport, NY. Wayne was the oldest of the seven children of Robert and Ruth (Imhof) Irwin.
Wayne attended BOCES culinary program and graduated from Lockport High School in 1973. For over 30 years he worked at Orleans/Niagara BOCES as a mail courier and an unforgettable personality to those he interacted with. Retiring in 2016.
Wayne shared his passion for the outdoors with his closest friends and family which included all types of hunting, fishing, frogging and yes catching snapping turtles as well. He was an avid gardener, year over year amazing people with his dedication to the hobby. But most of all Wayne enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Making people laugh and enjoying their company everywhere he went.
Will Wayne always be remembered…? Absolutely but there’s only one answer to such a question. “Is a bullfrogs ass waterproof…?
Wayne survives through his children Christopher (Tonya) Irwin Sr., Thomas Irwin Sr, and Brandie (James) Reynolds.
Grandchildren: Christopher Irwin Jr., Sara (Dylan) Baker, Austin Irwin, Ian Porth, Thomas Irwin Jr., Maranda Irwin, Lucas Irwin, Delila Reynolds, and Alexander Reynolds.
Way to Siblings: Frank (Beth) Irwin, Laurie Irwin, Debra (late Thomas) Wills, late Mark Irwin, Bobby Irwin, and Ronald Irwin; also survived by several nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and his cats.
Private services are to be held at the convenience of the family.
