CLARENDON – Virginia Kathryn Legg, 86, passed away February 3, 2023 at Unity Hospital. She was born July 29, 1936 in Summersville, WV, a daughter of the late Anthony and Kathern Legg and had lived in this area most of her life.

Virginia was the greatest mother and grandmother. Her family was everything to her and she loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virginia enjoyed flowers and gardening and her greatest joy was helping someone in need.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her life partner, Louis Holley; her son, Charles Underwood; brothers, James Legg, Homer Legg; sister, Delores Lipucci; daughter-in-law, Amy Underwood.

Virginia is survived by her children Howard Underwood, Jesse (Leslie) Underwood, Teresa (Ken) Holley, Joel (Marge) Underwood, Kim Underwood, Richard (Kathy) Underwood, Julie (Jerry) Moon, Mark (Lori) Underwood, Mary (Jason) Pallister; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; brother Robert Legg; sisters-in-law Kay Legg, Sandy Legg Johnson and her beloved cat Oscarette.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Rte. 31 Holley on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 4-7 where a brief prayer service will be at 5 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4955 Bailey Ave. Suite 217, Amherst NY 14226.
