Velma A. Cichocki

MEDINA – Velma A. Cichocki, of Medina, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Orchard Rehab & Nursing Center at the age of 86.

Velma was a daughter of the late Ernest and Marie (Burtch) Waterson, born on May 5, 1936 in Medina. She graduated from Lyndonville High School. Velma worked for Harrison Radiator Division of GM in Lockport for over 30 years. She married Richard G. Cichocki, Sr. on October 24, 1987. Velma was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing bingo and playing scratch offs. She enjoyed watching old episodes of Perry Mason and listening to Elvis. Velma travelled to Las Vegas several times with her husband, Richard and also enjoyed trips with her travel group through the UAW seeing much of the country.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Vivian (John) Pietroboni and Beverly Schutt; brother in-law, John Hare; granddaughter, Jennifer Lacey; and niece, Jean Pietroboni.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard Cichocki, Sr. of Medina; two daughters, Cheryl Hoffman (James Pinckney) and Karen Carlton (Robert Fox) both of Medina; grandchildren, Kurt Hoffman, Jill (CJ) Kenward, Nicole Carlton (Pat Pollard) and Melissa Carlton (Joshua Stockwell); great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Keanan Lacey, Ryker Kenward, Jayde and Cash Pollard and Wyatt Stockwell; sister, Kay Hare of FL; brother in-law, Robert Schutt; also several nieces and nephews.

An hour of visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 14 from 10-11 a.m. followed by her memorial service at 11am at the Oak Orchard Assembly of God, 12111 Ridge Rd., Medina. Interment will be in Bates Road Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
